About Volker Golf

I was raised in Tarkio, Missouri, a small town in the northwest corner of the state. After graduating from high school in 1994, I attended the University of Missouri and received my degree in education in 1999. I then began my first job in the golf business as an assistant professional at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Missouri. I quickly moved on to the first assistant position at Sedalia Country Club in Sedalia, Missouri, where I achieved PGA membership in 2004. I also received the Acushnet Apprentice Scholarship presented by Titleist, Cobra, and Foot Joy for the Midwest Section PGA in 2004. The 2005 golf season was spent working at The Club at Porto Cima, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. The following year, I moved to Kansas City to work at Leawood South Country Club and worked as the Head Professional in 2007 and 2008. I married my wife Cassie in June 2009 and we now reside in Tucson, Arizona.
Although I have only been teaching golf for the past 10 years, I have been playing the game most of my life. I have had success playing at both the amateur and professional level, but I truly enjoy working with players of all abilities to help them reach their goals in golf. My teaching philosophies have developed from my work with award-winning golf professionals, studying golf’s top teaching professionals, and my attendance at multiple PGA teaching seminars over the past decade. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with other golfers, whether new to the game or lifelong players.
